Application Support and Development
We are looking for a sharp get-things-done kind of guy or gal for a local client of ours. This role will be part Support, part Development.
One of our long-time clients has a need for someone to learn and then support one of their in-house applications. This is a fairly critical piece of software that is used across the country by dozens of users with varying technical abilities. Try to think of it as helping your mom with a computer issue.
This application is currently being re-written, but until that time here is the current technology stack.
- SQL Server
- SOAP Web Services
Responsibilities and Duties
In order to achieve success, this is what we expect.
- Learn and document the current system. This application has a fair amount of complexity, and there is little in the way of good documentation on how the system should work.
- Provide Tier I support. The buck stops here. There may be times when you will need to talk to one of the developers, but most issues should be able to be resolved once you get up to speed.
- Manipulate data with SQL queries. Most issues are data issues.
- Implement bug fixes.
- Help with the current rewrite of the system.
